London Youth Games – Junior kayak sprint triumph

Richmond Canoe Club junior kayakers celebrated success last weekend (6 June) in a kayak sprint competition – the event was part of the London Youth Games. The games involve teams from each of the 33 London boroughs and include events from archery to volleyball – last weekend the focus was on some of the water sports, this included the 200m kayak sprint event. World Masters Championships

Congratulations to Balazs who raced at the World Masters Championships earlier this season. This year due to injuries and last minute problems he was the only Richmond paddler who made the trip Ottensheim Austria, where he acquitted himself well and achieved a respectable 6th place in K1 200m, and at the last minute teaming up with a random Russian paddler a stunning bronze place in K2 200m.
