Training Program

  • Saturday - Club Groups from 9.00am with club coaches
  • Sunday - Senior K2 at 9.00am. Senior Session at 10.00am

Gym sessions with Marcus Gohar/ Trevor Wetherall at the club for members as per club timetable.
Morning and evening paddling sessions during the week in groups/individual arranged through club coaches.

Paddlers are encouraged to attend club races [10K/Glovers time trials] to improve their boat skills and endurance. A range of local marathon races are available including the Wey Hare & Hounds series, Waterside, Thameside and the regional series of Haslar races. Paddlers should try singles one weekend and doubles the next. This will help with boat skills/portage practice and give a better understanding of crew paddling and compatibility.

Crews preparing for Devizes Wesminster should do the above with more emphasis on doubles work.

Video sessions may be organized during coaching sessions by arrangement with the club coaches.

Individual or bespoke training may be arranged through the coaches, to help club members prepare for specific events or to further improve their paddling technique.

A master class programme can be arrange for each coaching group as required, please talk to Trevor Wetherall (kayak) or Marcus Gohar (canoe).

See our online calender incorporating training sessions and marathon races.
