Thirty Two Richmond paddlers attended the Elmbridge race, a fantastically large turnout from all levels.
Some notable successes include, Bret Irvine finishing 3rd in Div 2 with Henry Hendron one second behind, finishing 4th. Racing Div 3, Tim Middlehurst finished 2nd, narrowly missing out on 1st. Another Second in Div 5 with junior Kathryn Hall finishing just 11 seconds from 1st.
In a thin Div 6 field, Mike Pigott finished 1st. In Div 7, Marcus Gohar in his infamous C1 took the K1’s on and came out the better with a 3rd in a very strong field.
In K2, Lizzie Broughton and Lindy Harmsen secured a well deserved 3rd with Haynes and Barnes of Richmond finishing just behind in 4th and in Div 7/8 K2 Trevor Wetherall and Freddie Purcell finished a good 3rd .
A great showing in all divisions, and what a fantastic team effort to get our people out racing, and racing well. Keep up the good work Team Richmond.
