The BBC are filming a new series of programmes about elite athletes from one discipline attempting some of the hardest races in the world in disciplines other than their own.
The club was selected to take part in the initial screening of 50 hopeful candidates, and under the eagle eye of Trevor, Craig and Tim, their paddling skills were ruthlessly tested, analysed and reported back to the BBC.
One of the successful athletes, Mark Daniels has been selected to take part in a tough race involving a lot of kayaking. We don't want to spoil the surprise of what looks like being a brilliant BBC series, so the details remain secret for now.
Suffice to say our novice paddler got very cold, very wet, very tired and quite upset at times. But the beasting implemented by OberKommandant Wetherall and Unterleutnant Joiner will undoubtedly hold Mark in good stead during the race.
Watch the listings for this series in the new year!
