Hasler Qualification Status

23 June 2006

For those who have taken part in Hasler races, you can look at our current Hasler Qualification Status - apparently this is the new 'easy read' format. Makes you wonder what it was like before.

If you have any queries or spot any errors, contact Adrian (Racing Secretary).

And if you haven't done a Hasler race yet.... please do. We need to get the club to qualify.

Marathon World Cup 2006 Results

20 June 2006

Lizzie Broughton's back from the World Cup marathon where Team GB came second overall. Lizzie and Fay Lamph (Wey CC) came fifth in their race. We had a "really bad start", well that's what Lizzie said when quizzed across the waters of the Thames last weekend.

Congratulations on being selected and great experience for Lizzie.

Full results here - would have got them to you earlier, but technical problems.

Touring in Chichester

2 June 2006

Chichester Harbour 25th June 2006

After the intrepid exploration of the overgrown Abbey Stream in May, we are off for another adventure. This time Peter has agreed to lead a paddle in Chichester Harbour, a large enclosed tidal area with three fingers of water reaching deep inland. It is about a 100 mile drive, so we will be starting earlier than other trips. Peter is suggesting 6.30am….

A successful trip depends on good weather and not too much wind. If the weather isn’t good enough we plan a paddle on the River Wey instead, and will try Chichester in July.

If you want to attend, please email Jim or speak to him, or Steve Ogin at the club as soon as possible. Book early to avoid disappointment.
