Courses
& Training Sessions
Richmond
Canoe Club welcomes all ages and all abilities.
Richmond Canoe Club is a racing club, while not all of our members actively race nor do we insist on it you should view the club as you would a running club (except it is on water) if you are not fit you will soon become so.
Beginners'
‘Reception’ courses
Adults
Beginner courses for adults run on Saturday morning
at 09.00 throughout the year. The sessions are run by Peter Barnes
and if you wish to give it a try, the cost per session is £5.00.
If you decide to join the club, you pay an annual membership fee
of £90, which covers training sessions and use of the club's equipment.
To participate in the courses, you must be able
to swim 50 metres in light clothing. You will need to bring a towel,
a spare set of clothes and clothes suitable for paddling. We recommend
the following, depending on the conditions:
Pair of old trainers or plimsolls
Tracksuit bottoms, leggings or shorts - NO JEANS, PLEASE
T-shirt, sweatshirt, thermal top
Cagoule
Towel
We provide the canoes, kayaks, paddles and buoyancy
aids.
Read the ‘Canoeing is fun section to get a
good introduction to what we do and how much you will probably enjoy
it!
