Sprint Racing is one of the two Olympic events in the canoe world, and takes place on flat water at regattas. Distances raced are 200m, 500m and 1000m.
The racing kayaks and canoes have to conform to international standards and specifications. Racing takes place in singles, doubles and fours in both canoe and kayak classes.
You have to be a BCU member to race at these events.
The big sprint events take place in Nottingham and the club travels up on mass, the events National Championships and Inter-club Regatta's take place over two days. Club members camp while the juniors can stay in accommodation provided at the venue if they wish.
These events are all about the club and the team spirit at them is palpable. Please get your details to our team organiser (Trevor) as early as possible as he has to do a lot form filling on your behalf.
