A Cup of Tea and a Slice of Cake please

28 June 2005

It's nice coming of the water to a warm cuppa and a bite to eat. But that smiling face, those open arms have volunteered to serve.

Your Galley needs you. Alison is looking for volunteers for every Saturday from the 2nd July through to 13th August (and probably beyond).

It's simple to do and only takes a couple of hours - ask Alison what you need to do if it's your first time.

Put your name on the rota in The Shed or drop her an email through the website to get the date you want. First come, first served! So to speak.

Thanks.

Wedding Bells on the Water

28 June 2005

Good luck to Liz Greasby and Mark Pearce on their forthcoming wedding - Saturday 25 June. The church is in Hampton, the reception in Shepperton. Rumours that they're paddling upstream in a ribbon decorated K2, and heading up north after the reception to compete in the Cheshire Ring Race for their honeymoon should not, on any account, be believed.

Best wishes to you both from all at Richmond CC.

Royal Wave Surge

13 June 2005

Great club turn out at the Royal Marathon. Plenty of podium finishes.

Richmond got a 1-2 in Division 9 K2 with Jack & Kairon and Ben & Freddie. Up in the higher divisions, Brett and Doug came in 2nd in Div 1/2 K2, losing out on top spot by just a second. Richard and Jordan came in 3rd in Div 3/4. Carl and Ulrik won 3rd place - and a steak - for their performance in Div 5/6.

In K1, Ollie came 3rd in Div 3 with just 5 seconds seperating the top 3. Lindi paddled home 3rd in Div 6, and Sarah J took 2 in Div 7.

Overall we had 36 paddlers on (or in) the water in 27 boats. Thanks to all who made the trip up river. Look out for the next racing opportunity or check Paddle Point for the chance to improve at the next race.
