After 20 years of successfully representing
Richmond Canoe Club, Gavin Turrell and his wife Lisa are embarking
on a new life in Australia.
Richmond Canoe Club members were cordially invited to give
the couple a send off to remember, in this momentous moment
in the Club’s history.
A MESSAGE
FROM GAVIN
To all.
Lisa and I would just like to thank you for attending my 'Farewell
to Richmond' party on the 7th. It was a fantastic and thoroughly
enjoyable evening.
Special thanks to Debbie, Andrea and Alison for making the
evening run so smoothly.
It was a massive honour to have an award given in my name
that I hope paddlers will strive to earn it in the future.
When racing is daunting I would recommend you remember Trevors
regular quote to me over the years.
" they only have two arms and two legs just like you
- go out there and beat them."
You are a grerat bunch of people and even though I am on the
other side of the world, I shall have lots of fond memories
of you and that great sanctuary called Richmond Canoe Club.
Good luck at the interclubs for those of you going. I shall
be there in spirit of course - roar and all! :)
All the best and I shall make sure I pop in when I next visit
the UK - possibly at Christmas.
Fond Regards.
Gavin.
