Richmond win ladies trophy and team trophy at DW 2014

The Easter Weekend saw 13 Richmond paddlers take to the start line of the 125 mile Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon. After a long and disrupted winter of training race conditions were reasonable, with the flow having subsided following months of rain. We had five crews entered into the non stop event, with a K2 and a K1 also racing over 4 days. We had one class winner this year, the ladies crew of Sue and Beth.

Also on Easter Weekend- Waterlands marathon and Elmbridge half marathon

Six Richmond paddlers made the trip to Amsterdam on Easter weekend to race at the Waterlands Marathon, with Tom, Brett, Alex, Nick and Sean racing the seniors men’s race and Lizzie the senior ladies. This is a very popular race held over the canals, rivers and estuaries of Amsterdam. This year was the biggest yet with over 150 people entered, including the top Spanish and Portuguese marathon paddlers and teams

Thameside 2 & Waterside D

The next two races in the pre season build up have taken place with a small Richmond team racing at both Thameside 2, two weeks ago, and Waterside D last Sunday.
