As of 26 March 2020, British Canoeing updated their advice regarding paddling activities during the current period of social distancing, and as a result the Richmond Canoe Club committee have decided to do the same.

The full statement from BC can be seen at the link below, but in summary they now “strongly recommend that all paddlesport activity should immediately cease on rivers, waterways and coastal areas until further notice”.

The RIC committee have therefore decided to announce that, unfortunately, Richmond Canoe Club is now closed to all members. The club must not be used for any reason whatsoever, and this includes all boat sheds, indoor spaces and the pontoon.

We hope to open again as soon as possible, but will be guided by Government and British Canoeing advice.

Questions can still be raised with the committee using the following two contacts:

Tom Sharpe – commodore@richmondcanoe.club
David Leech – secretary@richmondcanoe.club
