World Masters Games, Torino

By 16 August 2013No Comments

A small team of Richmond paddlers (Tony, Andrei, Shane, Istvan, Gabor & Balazs) raced hard in the World Masters Games held in Torino last week.

Results as follows:

K1 racing was very competitive, our only finalist Balazs came 6th in the K1 200m.
Tony just missed out with an unlucky draw in the 1000m K1 semi, coming 4th with only the top 3 qualifying for the final.
This was common- Shane, Gabor and Andrei also came 4th in their semis just missing out on getting to the final.
Our only medal came from Gabor and Balazs with place in the K2 200m. It was a close fight, with 0.02 seconds from 2nd place.
Andrei and Istvan came 7th in K2 1000m O40 after hard racing in their heat and semi.
The times were very fast in every age group so this was a good set of results.

In the marathon, Andrei came 1st in a mixed k2 with a Nottingham paddler.

(Thanks to Balazs for the results)
