RICHMOND CANOE CLUB MARATHON 2021- Live Results

Richmond Canoe Club are pleased to welcome paddlers back for our annual race on the River Thames at Ham, Richmond-upon-Thames.

This event will be run under the 2021 Marathon Racing Rules, but note that Hasler points will not apply this year due to the suspension in racing during 2020 and some other changes are required to allow the event to proceed.

COVID-19
The event organisers have performed a COVID-19 risk assessment and therefore some procedures may be different from previous years, specifically

  1. No late entry or changes on the day
  2. No briefing on the day, all course and safety information will be available online before the race
  3. Results will be posted directly online at https://entries.gbcanoemarathon.co.uk/, there will be no paper copies

We encourage all competitors and spectators to test before attending, and please do not attend the event if you have any COVID symptoms or had contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 7 days.

Parking

Parking will be available on the Ham Riverside Pitches, turn left after passing Ham House stables. Access is controlled by lockable barriers, which will be locked at 3:30pm so all cars must have vacated the area by this time. Please do not park in the main car park by the river, as this is for use by visitors to Ham House.

Timings

10:30am Geoff Sanders Mini K1 and K2 starts

12:00pm Hasler Divisional Starts @ 2-min intervals

Food & Drink

Light refreshments will be provided for all competitors after the races.

Other food and drink will be available for purchase.

Prizes

Prizes will be provided for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each quorate race and all Geoff Sanders series races.

Courses

Hasler Divisional courses will be based on a 6.5km circuit between Glovers Island (downstream race starts) and Teddington Lock.

  • Divisions 1-3 – 3 laps, no portages
  • Divisions 4-6 – 2 laps, no portages
  • Divisions 7-9 – 1 lap, no portages

Starts and Finishes will be facing downstream at Ham Riverside Car Park. There will be a dedicated finish lane which you must enter for your time to be recorded. Please do not enter the finishing lane on any other preceding laps!

Geoff Sanders Under 14 races will race a 4km course around Glovers island and Eel Pie island.
